Key takeaways from Intuit Connect 2026: Powering the next era of accounting

We’re living through an extraordinary moment in the AI era. Technology is moving fast, client expectations are rising, and the way you run your firm is transforming in real time.

That’s a lot to carry. Yet, what we see from this community isn’t hesitation. It’s leadership. You’re leaning in, adapting, and reinventing what it means to be an accountant in this new era. You’re not waiting for the future of the profession to be defined. You’re building it.

Partnering together, we’re unstoppable. That was the spirit at Intuit Connect 2026 in Las Vegas, where Intuit chairman and CEO Sasan Goodarzi kicked off three days for more than 2,000 accounting professionals to get inspired, connect with peers, learn about major product announcements, and have real conversations about where the industry is headed.

These are the top takeaways from the event:

#1: Accountants are our customers

Sasan opened Intuit Connect reiterating the foundational shift he announced earlier this year: You are the customer. It may sound subtle, but it’s changing everything for the company. Accountants need a partner you can count on to help you meet this moment and drive transformation. In the era of AI, we believe the most important way to power prosperity is championing accountants’ success.

What "being a customer" means for your firm:

  • We are innovating for you, and with you: Firms have been co-creating with Intuit. Agentic Books Close1 and Agent Studio, both currently in pilot, let you direct agents to do the work your way, no technical skills required.
  • We see your expertise as a critical differentiator: We’ve built the Intuit platform so you can customize it based on your firm’s policies and preferences. This means your procedures and Playbooks (beta) ensure that Intuit Intelligence2 tracks its actions in an audit log and leaves the final call to you.
  • We are investing in your growth: Intuit is investing billions of dollars a year in two outcomes: growth and efficiency. Intuit Accountant Suite and our agentic offerings are built to free up your time for advisory work, ProPartner Network (coming soon) will match you with the clients you define, and QuickBooks, Intuit Enterprise Suite, and Intuit Accountant Suite work together as one connected platform, so you and your clients share questions, conversations, and data in one place.

#2: Intuit Intelligence is the unified platform helping accountants and businesses succeed

Intuit Intelligence2 is the financial intelligence behind the Intuit platform, drawing on 40 years of accounting data and the patterns of 10 million businesses. It routes each task to the right AI, automation, or expert, including a network of more than 650,000 accountants, so businesses and accountants work together in one place.

Alex Balazs, Intuit’s CTO, reflected on his 27 years at Intuit, starting as an engineer on the first version of QuickBooks Online. Over the last year, he has spoken with more than 40 accounting firms and that’s underscored how clients expect them to move fast and bring new insights, but responsibility for the correctness of financial outcomes still rests with the accounting firm.

That’s why, he said, financial work needs a platform where the best of AI works together with your experience and expertise. For Intuit products, you can expect:

  • A partner you can count on: Alex committed that Intuit will build in lockstep with firms, bringing you into the process and continuously acting on your feedback.
  • Clear product availability: Every new experience carries pilot, beta, or GA tag. Pilot means working with a small group of firms to make sure the products will solve your biggest problems, beta means early adopters can start to use it now, and GA means it’s fully scaled and generally available.

#3: We built Intuit Accountant Suite together. Here’s what’s new

Diana Williams, VP of Product for Accountants, demonstrated how Intuit Accountant Suite offloads routine operational work while keeping your firm in total control.

  • Cross-client insights (beta): See all of your clients’ KPIs in one dashboard. Coming soon: automatic flags for client anomalies, so you can spot potential issues early.
  • Agentic Books Close1 (pilot): Agents work through your firm’s own close procedures, directly in your clients’ QuickBooks file, handle the routine work, and flag what needs your attention. Nothing posts without your explicit review, and every action leaves an audit trail. Pilot sign-up is open through late November.
  • Playbooks (beta): Build reusable onboarding templates by industry or service level, then deploy them across your firm and your clients. In pilot: upload your SOPs and client checklists, and AI drafts the Playbook for you to review, edit, and approve before it reaches a client.
  • Agent Studio (pilot): Create custom AI agents designed for your firm’s unique workflows or specific client needs, no technical skills required. Agent Studio is currently in pilot with several firms, and some have already deployed agents.
  • Agentic Advisory (coming soon): Agentic Advisory drafts fully editable advisory packages with numbers verified against the ledger and an assessment of the client’s progress toward their goals. It prepares you for upcoming client meetings to elevate to insights and advisory services, and will only update goals or visuals if you ask and approve.
  • Continuously improved by your feedback: Intuit tackled several direct requests from accountants, including faster load times on pages like the homepage and client list; a client list that now shows primary and lead accountant, tax status, and bank and app connection health (with filtering, sorting, and custom views coming soon); easier consolidation of hundreds of clients into one console; expanded user groups and permissions; and a Resolution Center (beta) that tracks client and firm issues in one place.

ProPartner Network connects you with your ideal clients

Firms told Intuit they’d rather do great work for clients than hunt for new ones. ProPartner Network, coming soon, will connect eligible firms with businesses that match their specialty, including industry, revenue band, systems, and capacity. It will work from both sides: QuickBooks will prompt a business at the right point in its growth to find an accountant, the business will choose who to connect with, and Intuit Accountant Suite will surface relevant leads to you based on your firm profile.

The tiered ProPartner program will replace ProAdvisor in early 2027 with five tiers. You keep benefits like community access, training, 30% off QuickBooks, and tiered support. And we’re adding increased revenue share, the ProPartner Network, and free Intuit Accountant Suite Accelerate for Premier and Elite partners.

How to prepare today: Review your ProPartner Tier Preview inside Intuit Accountant Suite. To move beyond the member tier, you need just one team member being certified and one active connected client.

In parallel, our Accounting Futures program is preparing the next generation of accountants, providing free certification, Industry Advisors as mentors, and paid micro-internships, with a commitment to educate more than 1 million students over the next five years.

#4: QuickBooks updates: Automated cleanup and ready-to-post workflows

Arundhati Singh, SVP of Small Business Group, demonstrated how QuickBooks automates bookkeeping cleanup and routine posting based on firm-defined rules.

  • Core platform enhancements: Enjoy faster homepage loads and stronger bank connections. You can now lock parent accounts with a single click to prevent accidental postings, while a unified Intuit Intelligence audit log tracks all AI actions, third-party integrations (such as Claude), automations, and authorizations in one place.
  • Agentic Chart of Accounts cleanup: The new Cleanup Agent proposes a clear plan to consolidate and deduplicate accounts, make unused ones inactive, rename entries, and correct account and detail types. It inactivates rather than deletes, and only modifies transactions after your books-closed date. You can also use new drag-and-drop batch editing for manual adjustments.
  • Ready-to-post transactions: Quickly bulk-post transactions that AI has prefilled field by field. Anything requiring your review gets flagged alongside the relevant policy and reason, and you can set required fields and materiality thresholds per client or firm-wide.
  • Industry-based client insights: A new “needs attention” module highlights rising unpaid invoices and compares a client’s collection timeline against anonymized data from similar businesses. You can also turn on a one-click weekly invoice chaser that sends reminders and automatically turns off once paid.
  • In-app business intelligence: Access a new KPI scorecard featuring 100+ preset metrics (plus room for custom ones), with historical comparisons and drill-down details, giving you and your client one view of what matters most.
  • Invoicing in Claude and ChatGPT3 : You and your clients can create QuickBooks invoices directly in Claude and ChatGPT from live customer data, and the books stay up to date.
  • Payroll and HR updates: Self-service payroll corrections cut the back-and-forth over routine adjustments, while new hires can submit onboarding documents and enroll in benefits before day one even begins.
  • Unified inbox: Manage client communication all in one shared workspace. Intuit Intelligence automatically flags missing information, such as an unsubmitted receipt, so clients can send it straight from the QuickBooks mobile app with your full context attached.

#5: Intuit Enterprise Suite brings industry-level depth

Wyatt Jenkins, SVP, Product at Intuit, at Intuit Connect 2026

Wyatt Jenkins, SVP of Mid-Market Product, shared how Intuit Enterprise Suite is evolving to meet industry-specific requirements. These solutions are built with accountants at the center, supported by feedback from weekly conversations with firms since January. Wyatt described the strategy as one unified financial platform where experiences start with the accounting firm and end with the client.

Four dedicated industry editions customized for how businesses operate:

  • Construction, in beta, launched in February 2026 with new capabilities coming soon.
  • Manufacturing’s inventory foundation is available now in beta, with more capabilities coming soon.
  • Nonprofit is in pilot.4
  • Franchise edition for franchisors (owners of the brand) is in pilot,4 but IES is available today for franchises or multi-unit operators.

New ways firms can partner with mid-market clients:

  • Agent Studio (pilot): Intuit has forward-deployed Agent Studio to about 20 firms, with engineers working with their teams to co-build agents inside each one. Soon, firm-built agents can appear as a branded agent inside QuickBooks and Intuit Enterprise Suite, showing clients the value you provide.
  • Sandboxes (beta): Differentiate your firm by creating a customized version of Intuit Enterprise Suite preloaded with a client’s data, so you can show it in a sandbox before they make the move.
  • Migration manager (pilot): Track all your QuickBooks Desktop clients in one view, including how ready each is to migrate. Wyatt explained how the same tools also support moves from competitors like NetSuite and Sage, and that every migration is an advisory opportunity.
  • Enterprise readiness: Scalability, permissions, auditability, and sandboxes are part of the standard, and every capability moves through the pilot, beta, and GA process. The new Early Access Program, built into the product, lets you decide whether you and your team try pilot and beta features and control who in your organization has access.
  • Product roadmap: Upcoming releases include global consolidation for multinational businesses, custom objects, and advanced revenue recognition. Intuit’s acquisition of Sequence, announced a week before Connect, adds an AI-native revenue management platform that replaces spreadsheets and manual billing from contract to billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition.

#6: Leading firms are changing how they staff and serve clients

On the “Shaping the Future of Accounting” panel moderated by Ashley Still, EVP and GM of Small Business and Mid-Market, leaders from firms of all sizes shared practical insights into how their teams are evolving:

  • Hector Garcia (Quick Bookkeeping & Accounting): AI handles basic routine queries, freeing up time for high-impact advisory conversations.
  • Nicole Davis (Conscious Accounting): Transformed from software user to building custom automation tools without an engineering background.
  • Roman Villard (Full Send): Trains staff to effectively audit and validate AI outputs.
  • Matthew May (Sorren): Preparing team members to manage digital workflows while consolidating 40 firms into Intuit Accountant Suite.

Customer results are individual and may vary.

#7: Building the next generation of accounting talent

Client advisory work is the fastest-growing service area in public accounting, and firms say hiring is their biggest constraint. The Accounting Futures program, Intuit’s coursework for higher education classrooms, helps close that gap. It gives educators access to flexible QuickBooks and advisory curriculum, free QuickBooks Level 1 certification and the Client Advisory Services Foundations ProAdvisor Badge, access to Industry Advisors as mentors, and paid micro-internships, so students graduate with the skills firms are hiring for and are ready to have an impact on day one.

The program took center stage at Connect. On Sunday, Intuit hosted the inaugural Accounting Futures Roundtable, where accounting faculty and firm leaders worked together on how students go from campus to career. On Monday, a session moderated by Brittany Brown of LedgerGurus invited accountants to give back to higher education.

Firms can join the list for FY28 Industry Advisor recruiting and download the playbook for reaching out to a local college. Learn more here.

What’s next for you and your firm

Sasan closed where he started: This is an extraordinary moment for accountants, and you are at the center of creating prosperity for the businesses we serve together. That’s why Intuit is building one unified intelligence platform for both sides of the network, aimed at two outcomes, growth and efficiency, and we will keep building it with you.

Prepare your firm for what’s next:
